Boost Your Hot Chocolates with Coffee Creamers

Having a cup of hot chocolate in the morning is a delight for most people. Unfortunately as we get older, it may become difficult for us to make a decent cup of the hot stuff in our office/workplace with the limited resources at hand. Instant packets by companies like Swiss Miss allow us to get our fix with nothing but a source of hot water (which can usually be found on your office coffee makers). But while this may tide over your craving, it’s never wholly satisfying. Today I was going through the morning routine when I had an idea. While at the coffee bar getting hot water, I noticed the new big, bright orange box of Delight Hazelnut Coffee creamers. Coffee creamers have been at the coffee bar since I could remember, but this orange box stood out and sparked something in my brain. I grabbed a couple of creamers (hazelnut, French vanilla, and regular) and headed back to my desk to try an experiment. The orange box on the messy coffee bar. My co-workers are animals.

Coffee is the go to drink for most 9-to-5ers, and for most, drinking anything else is seen as heresy. While I typically drink only H2O at the office, I will occasionally treat myself to the cup of Hot Chocolate. Picked up at a local grocery store in a pack of 10 for under five bucks, I used the packets in the office to spice up what were rather boring days. My hot chocolates were made in 1 packet batches straight in my special Aperture Science diner mug using instant hot water from the office coffee maker and stirred with a wooden coffee stick. While the mix didn't completely d

After a rough day of nearly everything going wrong, I decided I needed to relax a bit. So the lights got turned off except of one low lamp, I took a hot shower wash away the day, and whip up a glass of hot chocolate to replenish the soul. My poison of choice: Silly Cow Farms' Chocolate Truffle . I've had this particular batch of Chocolate Truffle mixing powder along with another Silly Cow Farms mix of Pumpkin Spice for about a year now. The local cheese shop was selling them and after trying their house hot chocolate mix last year, I decided to explore a bit. Some of Silly Cow Farms Hot Chocolate's are fair trade and all require only hot milk to mix. It's a little pricey for what you get with a price tag of $8.99 per bottle (per website). This particular cup of hot chocolate was made of 2% milk heated in a microwave for about 90 seconds. The cup I was using is a bigger than your standard coffee cup and required about 3 table spoons of Chocolate Truffle mix to cre

Created on a flight of whimsy, CocoaMoments (named by friend Jordan) is a cute little blog about hot chocolate and maybe other things too. From instant packets to drink at the office to a Cocomotion dark Peruvian blend, I'll talk about making, drinking, and maybe even mixing chocolate into hot mixable forms. With a little luck, CocoaMoments might give your a little bit of entertainment and a smile.
